Il cosiddetto Torrione, chiamato anche Belvedere, è posto in prossimità al Castello. E’ un luogo privilegiato per ammirare l’intero panorama del paese, a trecentosessanta gradi. Esso affaccia infatti su un burrone, ai piedi del quale scorre il fiume Rescio, con rocce a strapiombo. Inoltre, è ivi situata la statua di San Gerardo, inaugurata nel 1998, posta al di sopra di un piedistallo in cemento armato, sul quale sono presenti alcune incisioni. La statua è alta circa 3 metri, per 0,80 metri di lunghezza, con un peso di 20 quintali. Realizzata dallo scultore Francesco Viola, completamente in pietra, fu donata al paese da un emigrante lucano.

The so-called “Torrione”, also known as “Belvedere”, is located near the Castle. It’s one of the best places to admire the 360-degree view of the town. It overlooks a ravine with overhanging rocks, and below the Rescio stream flows. The “San Gerardo” statue is placed here. It has been unveiled in 1998, and is set on a reinforced concrete base, which has engravings on it. The statue is about 3 metres tall, 0.8 metres long, and weighs 2000 kilograms. It was realized by the sculptor Francesco Viola, is completely made in stone and was donated to the town by an emigrant who was native of the region.
